The mission of the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York is to: develop well qualified entry level physical therapist assistants who reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of the community which the college serves and who function under the supervision of the physical therapist in a variety of physical therapy settings, capable of providing physical therapy treatments as outlined by the physical therapist to the satisfaction of the physical therapist.





Physical Therapist Assistants are Sensitive to the Principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion



Standard #1: Physical therapist assistants shall respect the inherent dignity, and rights, of all individuals


Standard #2: Physical therapist assistants shall be trustworthy and compassionate in addressing the rights and needs of patients and clients.





Physical therapist assistants must strive to transform words into actionable deeds as they provide caring, effective health care interventions.



These are not just words. They are principles that supplement the common good and are guiding axioms for all healthcare providers.


During this course we will continue our exploration of challenges and opportunities related to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in health care and our roles in keeping society moving in a positive direction.
